Week 19

This week I went camping.  I dreaded camping thinking about what I could eat and what i could drink and it was not as bad as I thought it would be.  I also did things I would have not done when I was 121 pounds heavier.  That's right I am now 121 pound lighter then I was at the beginning of this year.  I have lost a entire person.  Well a small person anyways.  I was able to do things I would not have done a while ago.

We went to Drumheller.  We went to the suspension bridge, hoo doos and the museum   Sat around reading our books in the sun and we went to a interesting church that we normally never would have gone too but we slept in and it was the only church with a later start time.

Tomorrow is my followup appointment with my Dietitian then next week I follow up with my nurse.  And then I am leaving on a airplane next Wednesday to pick up Yvonne!!!! I cannot wait to see her again.  So I might be late with my 20 week followup.  I cannot believe it has almost been 5 months since my surgery.  It has gone by so fast and so slow at the same time.

Week 18

Time flies when you are busy.  Tonight I went to a support group meeting and I was reminded once again that I needed to get a medic alert bracelet   I have ordered one tonight and I should get it in a week or so.

It is kind of weird how you perceive yourself after surgery.  Sometimes I think I should book a appointment with my physiologist to talk about it.

The change is a good thing but I just have to learn how to cope with all of the changes.  Well I have to go and pack for my camping trip this weekend.

Week 18

This week was a busy one.  I started working out everyday again.  Even if it is just walking around the lake by my house a couple of times I am making sure that I am keeping busy.

It is kind of funny but since I started working out more I am actually less tired and have more energy most of the time.  We had a long weekend last weekend and I was really excited because I had nothing planned.  I quickly remembered that I like being busy when I finished cleaning my house and still had lots of idle time on my hands.

On Monday we went to heritage days which was pretty fun.  We walked a lot and I tried Elephant Ears for the first time.  Not surprisingly my new stomach does not like it.    I should have known since it is deep fried and doughy two things that I have a hard time digesting.  Good thing Evelyn and I decided to share one.

4 months

Tomorrow I am 4 months out of surgery.  Here is a comparative shot of how I looked the day of surgery and a couple of weeks ago.
