I just had my 8 week post op appointment with my nurse and dietician. I had lost 41 pounds since surgery and although they said I was loosing fast they just added a extra snack onto my daily food so instead of 3 meals and 2 snacks I am supposed to have one more snack in the evening before I go to bed. Also I need to increase my protein which I kind of figured they would say. But she gave me a list of suggestions of foods that have more protein and I figured I would go and try and find some of them today and try them. She did say I should be able to eat 1,200 calories per day by now and when I see her again in 3 months I should be at that point and to try increase my protein by 10 grams a week until I am at around 80 to 90 grams of protein instead of the 50 to 60 grams that I am currently greeting.
So I have new goals that I have to accomplish in order to loose this weight in a healthy matter.
I was thinking of joining a exercise class starting in July but my nurse and dietician say that I am not allowed to do any vigorous exercise until I can get to my protein and calorie goal for at least 6 weeks. So that would mean I can maybe do it in September. But I am able to do pilates starting right away as long as I promise to start increasing my calories.
I have been thinking of doing a not competitive 5km walk/run in September. I have been walking 8 km every couple of days so it should not be that hard to train for it.
